The Effect of Affect

Would it be logical to assume that a single term for Barack H. Obama would be the saving action made by the scores of disgruntled citizens, to bring the economy and patriotism and democracy back from the brink of annihilation? Why, of course it would. How do I know that? Because nothing we see today is the fault of George W. Bush. Nothing. Not the economy, not the war(s), not housing, not big bank risks, not patriotism, and certainly not fiscal irresponsibility. Just ask Fox News, the Tea Party, Sarah Palin, Choose America First, CATO, the RNC, etc, etc, etc, etc. Even ask George, himself. He’ll tell ya.

And to be fair, nothing in the W years was the fault of Clinton. Clinton saw no residual affect from Herbert Bush, nor did the Elder Bush fight through the impact of Reagan.

One of the most amazing facts about this free society is that our Democratic Model effectively erases the sins (or honors) of the last guy in the door. Following is a list of the wonderful items we will no longer have to deal with when you “vote the socialist, Maoist, communist, deficit-spending Muslim” out of Office:

• Our $14 Trillion debt will disappear. I am utterly stunned that he ran this up in his first two years all on his own. I cannot wait to get back to the balanced budget, debt-free days of Bush II. You know, Ol’ W freed us from the Debt and Deficit of Clinton.

• Another year of deficit spending we shall not see! That is such a weight off of my shoulders. My kids were even worried and so were my unborn grandkids. We spend a lot time each dinner hoping that Obama will be a single term President so that future generations will no longer have to pay for my excesses and government support. I’m telling you, W was right by not spending more than the government took in, and boy those 8 years were so wonderful. I can remember the early 2000’s when the government helped no one. The golden years.

• No more war. This is a big one. Terror has flourished under President Obama and our wars have been fought with hands tied behind our back. Just the political “R” in the White House and Congress will certainly take us right back to Pleasantville. I wonder what all of our soldiers did before Barack? And those pesky terrorists, spending all those years hiding and waiting for the Democrat so they could jump out and terrorize. I hope those terrorists that find themselves without work dont add to an already bad unemployed percentage under a new, more patriotic Republican regime,.

Someone please tell me what happened to the debt left by Reagan, and the increase in Social Security taxes he left us all to pay. What happened when he lowered taxes, and then lowered the tax brackets so MORE of us paid the top rate? What happened to the spending of Herbert Walker Bush and the first Gulf War? And what of the wonderful Clinton gifts of NAFTA and GATT? Our workers sure love those now.

(Turning off sarcasm font). Until we stop learning everything we wish to know from single biased sources, and truly look to understand our current situation, nothing will change in this country. Not a single thing. Folks claiming constitutional rights should read the Constitution. Those crying about the size of our debt and deficit should find an economic source other that Hannity or Limbaugh to understand how our money is spent, and who is spending it. If you feel Barack Obama is a socialist, read up on Germany and Russia. You may find more in common within the history of those nations to Glenn Beck than you do with Obama. All socialism is, is marketing accepted by the masses for the perceived greater good.

The sand is no longer a comfortable place to put your head. For one, you’re in the dark all the time. Second, all your fed is dirt and rubbish. Finally, if you’re willing to swallow that, you’re willing to swallow everything else.
